What is an Art Date ?
Art Dates are a fun textile taster and shopping experience. We bring a selected range of our products to your group for your very own custom textile shopping experience and demonstrate a product of choice. Simply gather a group of likeminded textile friends and contact us to arrange a date and time to suit for your textile retail therapy. Its a fun day of fibre, fabric and art fusion!
What happens on an Art Date?
Our usual flow of events at an art date is as follows: coffee and chat to start as everyone arrives; an introduction to Essential Textile Art and what we sell, a demonstration of a product (selected to suit your interests); retail therapy then follows - shop till you drop! Close and thank you to all! The time frame is usually 2- 3 hours depending on how long you would like to shop so we can fit in with regular meeting day agendas.
Where do we do on Art Dates?
Generally in the Brisbane area however if you are in the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast areas and would like a visit too please contact us about the possibilities.
Is there any Cost to Art Dates?
Art Dates are at no cost to your group. In cases where groups are some distance away a contribution to petrol costs is requested.
Do we do Art Dates on the weekend?
Depending upon what we're up to, Saturday Art Dates can be arranged. If you're located outside of Brisbane then we prefer to arrange the Art Date on a Saturday to allow for travel.
Is there any other requirements?
It is the responsibility of the booking party to arrange for the venue, and tables and chairs for the display of goods at the venue. Different demonstrations require different setups so this would need to be discussed prior to the day.
Cancellation of an Art Date
We all know things crop up from time to time so please let us know at least 2 days before the day if things have changed so that arrangements can be cancelled.
What we DON'T do on an Art Date
We don't sit through show and tell sessions or other meeting activities of the group. Please provide us with a time to come after these events have taken place.
We don't pay for the hire of venues or other equipment.
We don't provide a gift to the group. An art date can take a minimum 8 hours of our time from packing, unpacking, travelling, demonstrating and sales. We give the group the gift of our knowledge about a range of techniques and products that usually extend far beyond that of the requested demonstration. Equally we don't expect a gift from a group. Your gift is the time you spend with us.
