InkAid
InkAid is the product used by Maggie Grey in "From Image to Stitch" and also the same type of product as featured in Cloth, Paper Scissors Issue 20 for printing digital images onto fabric, paper and mixed media collages. InkAid does exactly that - aids the printing of ink onto fabric etc so that the print is bright and luminous. Best practice is to use PIGMENT based ink for all your digital printing and a printer that allows a direct pass (i.e. doesn't curl the paper/ fabric around back onto itself when printing).

White Matt InkAid Pre-coat, 1 Pint
$35.50 ($32.30)

White matte InkAid pre-coat gives a beautiful very flat and bright white surface. It goes on clear and dries white. One coat is enough on smooth, hard surfaces like gesso; two coats may be needed on more porous surfaces, like paper. With pigmented inks it creates a water resistant finish which allows over painting of acrylic based varnishes.
Simply paint it on the surface you wish to print on. Leave to dry for 24 hours to ensure that it is fully dry and then print onto with your inkjet printer. Does not require any adhesive. |

Clear Semi-gloss InkAid Pre-coat, 1 Pint
$35.50 ($32.30)

Clear Semi-gloss InkAid pre-coat is a favourite for artists coating surfaces where they want to preserve the colour or image beneath the pre-coat. One coat is usually sufficient if carefully applied to cover all areas evenly. Very porous surfaces may need more coats, or you can seal the surface with acrylic medium before applying the pre-coat. Simply paint it on the surface you wish to print on. Leave to dry for 24 hours to ensure that it is fully dry and then print onto with your inkjet printer. Does not require any adhesive. |
