Transfer (disperse) dyes are for acrylic, polyester and ployester blends and elastic. These dyes differ from other dyes as the common method of use is by painting the dye onto paper and once dry ironing onto fabric, thus transferring the colour. The colour of the liquid dye is often very different to the transferred colour so some experimentation and play is needed to become familiar with this kind of dye. They can be used on fine cotton, wool and linen but the results are not as clear.

			Painting Techniques clockwise from top: 1. Butterfly fold (paint 1/2 page then fold paper in 1/2 to get paint on both sides). 2. Apply paint with brush then splash water on to get a "salt" effect. (try spray bottle with water too). 3. Painted lines with brush 4. Wet paper with spray bottle, drizzle paint on.
			Paint transferred to fabric with a HOT iron. Colours change when transferred to the fabric. Burgundy became violet for example!
			Paint transferred to green satin. Created a very sea foam inspired fabric.
